PCM Standard in Public Transport – Electronic Mapping of Fares

With (((eTicket Deutschland, Fraunhofer IVI researchers have developed the first device-independent standard for the electronic modeling and processing of tariffs in short-distance public transport. The basis of the standard are product and control modules (PKM), within which the tariff data and the corresponding processing logistics can be configured flexibly and comprehensively.

The transfer of know-how and technologies between scientific institutions and small and medium-sized enterprises is often merely selective. Within the WiTraM project, the transfer process was mapped in the new transfer model »science – market – provider« using an integrated approach and tested with the help of an example from the future market traffic and environment.

Buying Public Transport Tickets Via Mobile Phone

HandyTicket Deutschland makes buying public transport tickets more attractive and more efficient: the customers can choose the tickets they need conveniently via their smartphones and can get information about stops and connections. This means that they no longer have to rely on ticket machines and that they can board buses and trams without waiting periods, paper tickets and worries about cash and change.
