The National "Jugend forscht" Competition is the grand finale of the annual competition series for young researchers in STEM subjects. Awards are presented in seven subject areas as well as in an interdisciplinary category. All participants in the final round had previously won first place in their state competitions, thereby qualifying for the four-day finals. During the event, they were able to present their projects to a high-caliber panel of experts and also gain valuable insight into the topics explored by the other teams.
Prof. Dr. Sanaz Mostaghim, institute director of Fraunhofer IVI, served on the five-member expert jury in the subfield of computer science and mathematics again this year. Together with the other jury members, she witnessed the exciting presentations by the candidates and ultimately selected the national winner as well as the four runners-up.
All award winners were honored at the closing ceremony in Herzogenaurach in the presence of Federal Minister of Education Karin Prien.
