On November 11, the annual "Karrierewege" (Career Paths) fair at HTW Dresden enters its 14^th edition, offering a unique opportunity to connect with experts from various fields. Whether you're looking for an internship, starting your career, exploring a master’s program, pursuing a path in academia, or even considering founding your own company – the fair is open not only to students and graduates of HTW Dresden and other universities, but also to external visitors seeking guidance on career-related topics.

InnoTrans is the world’s leading trade fair for transport technology, taking place every two years in Berlin.

Europe’s Truck conference with exhibition for decision-makers in a changing world

Under the motto “Software, future drives and changing markets: transforming the trucking world”, leading industry experts engaged in discussions on the following key topics:

• New players, partnerships, and markets

Dr. Frank Steinert, Head of the “Vehicle Systems” Department, presented the Underbody Charging System in his Technology Pitch titled “Automated Underbody Megawatt Charging for Heavy Duty Applications.”

24^th Trade fair for fire brigades, fire-and-disaster control

Fraunhofer IVI presented technologies for effectively supporting strategic and operational-tactical decision-making in disaster management. The modular system MobiKat^® has been in use for over 15 years in command units, fire departments, command vehicles, public authorities, and control centers.

The participants of the event were able to discover how our innovative automated charging infrastructure is revolutionizing the operation of trucks and the entire logistics sector. They were given a demonstration of our underbody charging system – an automated, space-saving and safe charging solution for e-trucks, thereby gaining exclusive insights into the world of power electronics and charging technology as well as the technical challenges that drive our developments.

InnoTrans is the leading international trade fair for transport technology, which takes place every two years in Berlin. Sub-divided into the five trade fair segments Railway Technology, Railway Infrastructure, Public Transport, Interiors and Tunnel Construction, InnoTrans occupies all 42 halls available at Berlin Exhibition Grounds. The InnoTrans Convention, the event’s top-level supporting program, complements the trade fair and will be streamed live.

Under the theme "Railway Technology in Saxony," Fraunhofer IVI, along with other research and development institutions, will showcase technologies in mobility and energy at the joint stand of the Saxony Economic Development Corporation.

The range of transport-related research work covers the areas of vehicle and drive technology and intelligent transport systems, as well as dispatching, logistics and digital business processes. The research work on electromobility focuses on innovative high-power charging technologies and vehicle and drive concepts as well as solutions for remote battery diagnostics and vehicle integrated energy management.

On the Dresden Science Night, Dresden's universities, non-university research institutions and science-related companies open their buildings, laboratories, lecture halls and archives to the public. Interested parties can experience science and technology, research and innovation, art and culture in a variety of lectures, experiments, guided tours, exhibitions and films.

Review: The Long Night of Science at Fraunhofer IVI

On March 8th (12pm – 10pm) and March 9th (10am – 6pm), the Museum of Science and Technology Dresden will be transformed into a walkable science landscape of Saxony: With exhibits, workshops, clips, a science slam and innovative formats such as »Meet A Scientist«, scientific institutions from Saxony will introduce themselves and present their current projects to a wide target audience.

The »DesignLab for Applied Research« https://designlab.works – a cooperation between the TU Dresden and three of Dresden’s Fraunhofer institutes – will bring visitors closer to the topic of design in research. Multiple projects will be presented, such as the Albacopter^®, an experimental aircraft, which combines the maneuverability of the multicopter with the aerodynamic abilities of an albatross, the autonomous agricultural machine of Feldschwarm^®, as well as a VR presentation of a robot for maintenance of underwater areas in port facilities and wind turbines.
