Solutions for the electrification of commercial vehicles
At smarter E / ees Europe 2026, Fraunhofer IVI will showcase how applied research can support enterprises in transforming their vehicle fleets.
Highlights at our booth
Charging at the push of a button: Underbody Charging System UBCS for commercial e-vehicles
We will be presenting a fully automated charging system that charges commercial e-vehicles without manual plug handling. The underbody charging system requires no additional space for charging equipment at the charging point and works without open cables. As a result, the system is safe against cable theft and vandalism.
The technology enables charging capacities in the megawatt range and is ideal for efficient use in logistics centers and depots.
Data-driven monitoring for efficient fleet operation using IVImon
Discover how you can use systems for telemetry and analytics to generate real added value from vehicle and battery data, and how you can combine the data with intelligent charging and infrastructure solutions.
The monitoring platform IVImon is designed especially for fleet applications in logistics, shipping and municipal enterprises. Its aim is to help ensure and optimize the cost-effective operation of electric vehicles with the help of data-driven decisions.
Intelligent energy supply for economical fleet electrification
Learn how scientifically sound analyses and digital tools can support enterprises in planning and operating future-proof energy supply systems. Our solutions help logistics providers and municipal enterprises make safe investment decisions, lower energy costs and use existing infrastructure in an optimal way. In the process, we consider the complex overall system consisting of vehicles, infrastructure, existing consumers, energy storage units and renewable energy facilities.
We will be introducing our developments in the field of charging infrastructure and fleet planning, such as:
- Automated evaluation of vehicle deployment profiles and derivation of charging strategies
- AI-supported load forecasting
- Effective load management incl. determination of saving potentials
- Demand-based and cost-effective dimensioning of grid connections and buffer storage systems
