Feldschwarm® ÖkoSystem
Technology platform for adaptive autonomous agricultural machinery with swarm capacities
In the Saxony and Thuringia regions, experts from industry and science are carrying out research into innovative control systems for agriculture within the "Feldschwarm® ÖkoSystem" (field swarm ecosystem) RUBIN business alliance.
New electronic control systems and data technology will allow future farmers to cultivate fields by using multiple agricultural machines and modern farming robots simultaneously. Through the parallel execution of harmonized work processes, the quality and efficiency of field work will increase significantly. As a result, land can be cultivated more quickly and fewer staff is needed. This provides a sustainable solution for the growing shortage of skilled workers in agriculture.
In the project, Fraunhofer IVI is responsible for the following topics:
- Control system in the form of an open platform for highly automated mission planning based on the helyOS® framework
- Safety and security of the machine network
